LKG Field Trip @ The Silkworm Museum

Much to their excitement, children started off from school to the nearby mulberry farms and silkworm museum. Children were very curious as to what they would see in the museum. They waited for their turn to get inside the museum. Inside, children found these beautiful cocoons built by the caterpillars. They got to touch the silkworms and saw them feeding on the mulberry leaves. These mulberry leaves are from the mulberry farm adjacent to the museum. Children learnt that silk thread is extracted from these cocoons and these spools of thread are woven into brilliant silk sarees. The officials gave lot of information to the children. This field trip organized by DPS will be etched in our children's minds for ever.
