Jazz music workshop

A three day Jazz music workshop was held in Max Müller Bhavan from the 11th of November to the 13th of November. It was conducted by Ms Biggie Vinkeloe, who is a flautist herself and plays the saxophone too.


Nine of DPS, Banglaore East students, who are musically talented, had participated in this workshop. They were taught to think of a story, its moods and create their own musical composition around it. All in all, four pieces were composed by our students. The genre of music being Jazz, they were taught the essence of improvisation. This musical endevour was supported by another group of students, who showed the visuals of Bangalore city and played the audio sounds of our city, ergo making it both a visual and an aural treat.
On the night of the 13th of November, the students performed to a packed hall in the German institute, to a highly appreciative group of parents, teachers and other invitees.
